Five regions of the North Caucasian Federal District are among the leaders in drug crime

Ingushetia took first place in the Russian Federation in terms of the share of drug crimes in January-November 2023. It accounted for 28.6% of the total number of crimes committed, according to statistics from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Ingushetia also took first place in terms of dynamics in this area - plus 53.5% compared to January-November 2022.

Yamal was in second place in terms of the share of crimes related to drug trafficking (19.5%). Next are Kabardino-Balkaria (18.8%), North Ossetia (15.3%), Dagestan (14.8%), Chechnya (13.5%).

The regions with the lowest share of drug crimes are Chukotka (2.4%), Nenets Autonomous Okrug (2.8%) and Yakutia (4%).
