Law enforcement officials explained the document's origins in connection with the upcoming holiday on May 9th, but such actions typically occur shortly before the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Deportation of the Crimean Tatar People (May 18th).
Almost all regions of the North Caucasus abandoned New Year holidays
The authorities of Stavropol, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and Ingushetia abandoned mass New Year's festivities. Thus, the head of Ingushetia, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, said that there will be no fireworks or large-scale events in the republic, except for children, due to the current socio-political situation in the country and in the world.
Holiday concerts will not be held in North Ossetia. As for Dagestan, New Year's performances for children are organized there.
