Georgia and Azerbaijan are striving to simplify border crossings: the parties plan to introduce a single-window system at joint border crossings.

The law on foreign agents adopted by the ruling party of Georgia was copied directly from the Moscow leadership. This clearly contradicts the desire of the majority of the Georgian people to move towards the European Union and European integration. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated this.
He noted that Washington is going to take action against the Georgian authorities. According to him, the European Union is also monitoring the situation with the law and may take action.
US Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said the moment has come when opposition to Russian interference in Georgia will put aside petty differences in the West. “Of course, this must be the moment when Georgia’s ruling party realizes the cost of ignoring the will of the people to fulfill Putin’s whims and stops the breakdown in relations with the West. I hope that those in power in Tbilisi will put the country’s sovereignty above obedience and withdraw the “Russian law” from parliament,” McConnell said.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell called on Georgian officials to take into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission.
“The Venice Commission of the Council of Europe strongly recommended that Georgia repeal the law on foreign agents in its current form. We urge that this recommendation be taken into account from the point of view of preserving the fundamental elements of Georgian democracy,” Borrell wrote.
