Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze posed for a photo with several politicians, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a forum in Turkmenistan dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust. The Georgian opposition interpreted the presence of representatives of the ruling Georgian Dream party at the event alongside Putin as a decision to reconsider the country's foreign policy.

Alberd Chechenov, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria who fought in Ukraine, was found guilty of theft and sentenced to a year and eight months in prison.
Chechenov was convicted at least five times for theft and drug possession. In October 2022, he received two years in prison for theft. Soon he was released by decree of the President of the Russian Federation - he was pardoned for his participation in the SVO.
The former prisoner participated in the war against Ukraine from March 17 to November 16, 2023. He fought in the Storm Z assault units of the Russian Ministry of Defense. After returning home he committed a crime again and was convicted.
