Authorities in Russia’s North Ossetia republic have said they are taking measures to protect Karina Kodzayeva, who became the target of an online harassment campaign after posts published by platforms affiliated with the Caucasian Community movement. In a response to journalist Ksenia Sobchak’s appeal, the office of the regional human rights commissioner said the case is under the personal supervision of regional head Sergei Menyaylo and that law enforcement agencies may seek to block channels used to distribute unlawful content and identify those responsible for administering them.
More than 1 million Russian citizens came to Georgia after the start of the war with Ukraine
Since the end of February 2022, after the start of the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, 1,045,614 Russian citizens have entered Georgia. In September 2022 alone, after the announcement of partial mobilization, 222,274 Russian refugees migrated to this country. It is reported by Transparency International (TI).
Since February 2022, Russian citizens have opened about 1,300 companies per month in Georgia. The total number of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs registered during this period amounted to 21,326. These figures are almost three times higher than the data for the last 27 years. For comparison: from 1995 to 2022, only 7,788 legal entities received a license in Georgia.
