The Nalchik Garrison Military Court found serviceman Akromat Bersanov-Tsaroyev guilty of leaving his unit without leave (Part 5, Article 337 of the Russian Criminal Code). He was sentenced to five years and one month in prison.

Convicted 70-year-old co-chairman of the Memorial Center Oleg Orlov, at the request of judge Elena Astakhova, is taken from the pre-trial detention center to the court every day to familiarize himself with the case materials and brought back only at night. Most often, he spends the entire day in a convoy room, deprived of rest, hot food and full communication with a lawyer.
The daily delivery of Oleg Orlov to court from a pre-trial detention center leads to inhuman and degrading treatment and can be regarded as unlawful pressure, noted the Memorial Human Rights Center. His defense sent a complaint to the chairmen of the Golovinsky Court and the Moscow City Court.
Let us recall that on February 27, the Golovinsky Court of Moscow sentenced Oleg Orlov to 2.5 years in prison under the article on “repeated discrediting” of the army. The human rights activist was tried for an anti-war article in which he called the Putin regime fascist.
After being transferred to Moscow pre-trial detention center-5 “Vodnik”, he was offered to sign a contract to participate in a “special military operation”. Oleg Orlov laughed in response to the proposal. He explained that he turns 71 this year. In addition, he was sentenced for his anti-war position and protest against the war in Ukraine.
