Citizen of Georgia, 58-year-old Koba Khabazi was sentenced in absentia by the DPR court to 13 years in prison under the article on participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict. According to the Russian Federation, he fought in the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of the Georgian National Legion from March 2022 to January 2026. According to Russian prosecutors, he received 3.6 million rubles.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has added Karina Iminova and Said-Khamzat Baysarov to its wanted list. They are believed by Armenian intelligence agencies to be involved in the murder of Chechen native Ayshat Baymuradova in Yerevan in mid-October last year. According to the Investigative Committee of Russia (SK SOS), Baymuradova was fleeing regular physical abuse at the hands of her ex-husband.
SK SOS notes that the wanted list does not specify the statute under which the suspects are being sought, nor does it indicate the date they were placed on the wanted list. However, Iminova is listed separately as missing, which, according to human rights activists, may indicate a parallel search by her circle.
Armenian authorities placed both suspects on the wanted list back in November 2025. In December, corresponding requests were sent to Interpol and Russia, but by February 2026, no response had been received from the Russian side.
It is known that Baimuradova reported domestic violence and sought assistance no later than January 2024. At least two independent groups, SK SOS and Marem, were involved in her departure from Chechnya, which led to her ending up in Armenia.
She was reported missing on October 15, after she went for a walk with a woman named Karina. On October 19, the Chechen woman was found dead in a rented apartment in Yerevan. On November 3, reports emerged that two people had been identified from CCTV cameras as leaving the apartment: the aforementioned Iminova and Baysarov. However, as SK SOS noted at the time, the police did not disclose their names, did not classify them as murder suspects, and did not issue a wanted notice. Both left Armenia that same day. Baysarov had previously been charged with terrorism financing, but the charges were dropped in 2019.
After the body was discovered, difficulties arose with its transfer: according to Armenian law, burial is only possible with the participation of relatives. Despite requests from law enforcement agencies to the Russian side to notify the family, no relatives came to collect the body. Ultimately, the funeral took place in Yerevan only in March 2026—five months after the girl's death.
