"I attach great importance to the development of Sino-Georgian relations and am ready, together with Mr. President, to make efforts to continue the traditional friendship between our countries, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and further promote bilateral relations for the benefit of the peoples of China and Georgia," the congratulatory message of the Chinese leader says .

Earlier, representatives of six countries: Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Hungary and Belarus congratulated Mikhail Kavelashvili on his appointment to the new position.

Meanwhile, large-scale rallies continue in Georgia. A new wave of protests was triggered by the government's decision to suspend the country's European integration process until 2028.
