A criminal case has been opened in Dagestan following the collapse of the Gedzhukh Reservoir dam. The investigation is underway under articles of the Criminal Code for violating safety regulations during construction (resulting in the deaths of two or more people) and for violating environmental protection regulations.
The South Caucasus has the potential to strengthen regional integration. Farhad Mammadov, coordinator of the Peace Bridge initiative and director of the South Caucasus Studies Center, expressed this opinion after a meeting of civil societies from Azerbaijan and Armenia. Aide to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, who participated in the bilateral roundtable, reaffirmed Baku's commitment to a peaceful settlement and the development of trade relations. It was noted that the TRIPP transport project could improve regional transport infrastructure.
From April 10 to 12, the next stage of the dialogue between civil societies of Azerbaijan and Armenia took place in Azerbaijan as part of the “Bridge of Peace” initiative.
