The Armenian authorities are ready to conclude a peace treaty with Azerbaijan through negotiations. This was stated by President Vahagn Khachaturian at a meeting with Swedish MPs.
The Armenian leader also mentioned the need to unblock communications and open the borders with neighbors, but at the same time recalled that Baku has kept the Lachin corridor in Karabakh closed for more than three months.
«The aggressive actions of Baku against Armenia and Nagorny Karabakh undermine the efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus», said Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Paruir Hovhannisyan at a meeting with a delegation of the Swedish Parliament. He described the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor and the need for an international fact-finding mission.
