Reconciliation with Kadyrov will cost Kerimov $850 million

Chechnya's leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, and billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, a member of the Federation Council from Dagestan who had previously been in conflict over the division of Wildberries assets, have reached a reconciliation. The settlement cost Kerimov's partners $1.8 billion.

According to Novaya Gazeta Evropa, citing its sources, the deal, allegedly approved by Vladimir Putin, involves paying this amount to the Chechen leader.

Recall that two years ago, the former Caucasian "brothers" were separated by financial interests related to the high-profile conflict surrounding Wildberries.

At the end of July 2024, Vladislav Bakalchuk, co-founder of Wildberries and husband of its main owner, appealed to the Chechen leader for help, complaining that his wife "left home and contacted an unknown company that, under the guise of a merger, is squeezing out his business." Kadyrov accused brothers Levan and Robert Mirzoyan, the owners of Russ Outdoor, which announced a merger with the Wildberries marketplace, of "destroying a family" and "hostile takeover." It turned out that Kerimov, one of the main beneficiaries of the merger of the two businesses, was behind the Russ Group owners.

In October 2024, Kadyrov claimed that Kerimov had ordered his murder and threatened him with a "blood feud." Media reports later reported that Suleiman Kerimov took this threat seriously, stopping attending the Federation Council, where he represents Dagestan, and hiding in a secret village on Sparrow Hills in Moscow, under the control of the Federal Protective Service.
