A case was opened against seven residents of the KBR for creating a “Sharia patrol”

Seven people were detained in Kabardino-Balkaria and the Moscow region. They are accused under Art. 282.1. (organization of an extremist community). The defendants created the so-called "Sharia patrol".

According to investigators, in the city of Tyrnauz (KBR), the accused patrolled the area and looked for people whose lifestyle and behavior differed from their religious beliefs. Those who behaved “not as they should” were beaten with sticks and subjected to bullying.

At the moment, investigators know of 14 victims. However, in reality there may be much more. Investigators believe the accomplices operated until November 2023.
