A criminal case has been opened against a teacher from Chechnya for insulting religious feelings
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Chechnya has opened a criminal case for insulting the feelings of believers (Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code) against a resident of the republic, school teacher Mansur Zhabrailov. The reason for this was his online publications made between December 2021 and September 2024.

Earlier, the Chechen government reported that Zhabrailov from the village of Shovkhal-Berdy in the Nozhai-Yurtovsky District was detained at the end of September due to his provocative statements about Christianity. He was then fired from the school. The Grozny TV channel published a video in which Zhabrailov apologizes.

In particular, the investigation was interested in a video containing the following appeal: “Gentlemen tritheists, I am hiding, I am in the basement, do not look for me, I am very afraid of you. Better pray to your humanoid that he will rescue me from the basement and punish me. Or maybe he is sleeping? How can I know, he can sleep by human nature."

The remark was noticed by pro-government bloggers, and then by the security forces.
