Following a ruling by the Supreme Court of the Republic to review the case, the Shali City Court of Chechnya reduced the prison sentence of Zarema Musayeva, the mother of opposition activists, from four years to three years and 10 months. In her final statement, as in all previous hearings, she denied guilt in attacking an FSIN officer, the Team Against Torture reported.
Chechnya's leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, was awarded the honorary badge "For Achievements in Sports." The award was given for his enormous contribution to the development and popularization of sports in the Chechen Republic.
According to Magomed Daudov, Chairman of the Chechen Government, this decision reflects Kadyrov's long-standing efforts and initiatives in sports. Daudov emphasized on his Telegram channel that the Chechen leader's contribution to creating sports infrastructure and conditions for sports is enormous.
He noted that, thanks to Kadyrov's support, hundreds of sports facilities have been built and restored in the republic, including modern stadiums and training facilities, providing youth and athletes with excellent training opportunities and inspiring them to achieve athletic excellence.
