Russia has attacked Ukrainian infrastructure involved in gas supplies from Azerbaijan

The Orlovka gas compressor station, which provides gas transit to Europe and Ukraine from Azerbaijan, was attacked in the Odessa region. Moscow used Geran drones to strike.

The Orlovka station plays a key role in gas transit to European consumers and ensuring gas reverse flow to Ukraine. The fire destroyed production equipment. As a result of damage to the main gas pipeline, 2,500 subscribers were temporarily disconnected.

“Hundreds of families were left without gas. This was a deliberate blow to our preparations for the heating season, absolutely cynical, like every Russian blow to the energy sector,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
