Russia expressed hope for the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan
In 2025, Russia is ready to do everything possible to establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopyrkin stated this in his New Year's greetings.

According to him, crisis phenomena in the world will unite Moscow, Yerevan and Baku more strongly in the face of common challenges and threats.

Let us remind you that the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan refused to come to St. Petersburg on December 26 for the EAEU summit allegedly due to infection with the coronavirus. Earlier, he noted that his country "considers itself outside the CSTO bloc, and returning to the organization is no longer possible."

It should also be noted that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said the other day that the AZAL plane that crashed in Kazakhstan on December 25 was damaged as a result of shelling from the ground on the territory of the Russian Federation. He demanded that Moscow admit guilt, punish the guilty and pay compensation. According to Aliyev, initially Russian official structures put forward the version about the explosion of a gas cylinder, which showed their intentions to cover up the issue, and this, in his opinion, "does no one any honor."

In addition, Azerbaijan tightened migration rules for Russian citizens. According to the government's decision of December 29, the maximum period of their visa-free stay in the country is now 90 days a year.
