The Russian public official asked to be excused for insulting the president of Azerbaijan
A member of the Coordination Council at the Public Chamber, Vladimir Karasev, after the reaction from Azerbaijan for the insults inflicted on President Ilham Aliyev, stated that his words were misunderstood. He claims that by the expression "about pida...sah" he meant the Spanish word "pidas", which supposedly means "people who make demands".

At the same time, "pidas" is a verb, not a noun. In Spanish, other words are used to denote a demanding person, such as requester (applicant), exigente (demanding) or demandante (claimant).

Earlier, Vladimir Karasev called Ilham Aliyev "offended" and a "scumbag". This happened after the head of state accused the Russian authorities of the crash of the Embraer passenger plane.

The head of the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Amin Mammadov, reacted to the unpleasant statements.

"Unfortunately, in modern Russia, the practice is becoming more and more common when people with a high social status allow rude and offensive rhetoric. If Karasev does not face the consequences, it will show the level of the Public Chamber," Mamedov noted.
