Lena Patyaeva, a friend of missing Chechen native Seda Suleimanova, was charged with an administrative offense after a solo picket in Grozny. She held the protest on August 23, the third anniversary of Suleimanova's disappearance. Under the charges against her, Patyaeva faces up to 30 days in jail or a fine of up to 300,000 rubles.
The highest birth rate in the Russian Federation was recorded in Chechnya
In Chechnya, as well as Tyva, the highest birth rate remains - 2.66 and 2.44 children per woman, respectively. In Altai, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Ingushetia, the birth rate varies between 1.8–2. This range no longer reproduces the population, according to Rosstat.
The lowest birth rate is in the Leningrad region (0.88 children per woman) and Sevastopol (0.98).
The current birth rate in the Russian Federation predetermines a population decline of at least 500 thousand people per year. The number will increase over time.
