The North Caucasus is the leader in mental health of residents among Russian regions

According to data from the Russian Ministry of Health for 2024, the North Caucasus Federal District demonstrates the highest mental health indicators among the regions of the country.
In particular, the lowest rates of primary incidence of mental disorders were recorded in North Ossetia, Ingushetia and Chechnya: 103, 98 and 42 cases per 100 thousand people, respectively.

This trend is combined with the low level of antidepressant consumption in the region and the recognition of the North Caucasus Federal District as the healthiest and most athletic district in Russia, which, according to experts, is interconnected.

The Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO) and the Arkhangelsk Region are leaders in the number of newly diagnosed mental disorders per 100 thousand people - 703 and 697.
