A RIA Novosti study revealed significant differences in car affordability across Russian regions. The worst situation is observed in the North Caucasus republics, where only a small proportion of families can afford to purchase and maintain a new car on credit.
Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia took the last places in the rating of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers in terms of the share of accident-free drivers. In these republics, the smallest shares of car owners were recorded who have the maximum discount for accident-free driving under OSAGO - 2.6%, 4.6 and 4.9%, respectively. Such a discount can be obtained if you do not arrange an accident for 10 years.
The largest number of drivers with the maximum discount for accident-free driving was recorded by car insurers in Moscow - 45%. This is followed by the Moscow region and St. Petersburg - 41% of drivers each.
In general, in Russia, the share of car owners with a minimum CVD amounted to 29.4%. Regions with markedly lower rates have problems with driver training and road conditions, or high risks of insurance fraud.
