The film "The Letter," about the deportation of the Ingush people, has been banned in Ingushetia. The republic's Ministry of Culture has refused to hold the premiere of Amur Amerkhanov's film, despite it having received a federal grant and having been shown in other regions.
Telegram channels report that the house of the elder brother of the head of Ingushetia, the former head of the federal postal service department of the region, Magomed-Bashir Kalimatov, was searched. He was detained and transported to Moscow.
Kalimatov is suspected of organizing the theft of budget funds with the help of the head of the Pension Fund for Ingushetia, Islam Seinaroev.
Back in March 2023, security forces stopped the activities of an organized crime group that stole more than 2 billion rubles from the Russian Pension Fund (PFR). As part of the theft case, 34 people were detained in Moscow, Ingushetia and North Ossetia. One of the defendants is Magomed-Bashir Kalimatov, the elder brother of the head of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov. It was noted that his actions contained signs of a crime under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft by fraud).
