The battalion, which, according to media reports, includes not only relatives but also their former colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is equipped with the latest technology: game consoles, plasma TVs, dehumidifiers, as well as its own sauna and laundry facilities.
According to the publication, the "Vakha" battalion, led by Apti Alaudinov's cousin, Vakha Saayev, is stationed at a significant distance from the combat zone, at least 20 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, in the Belgorod region. It is noted that until 2022, Saayev served as deputy head of the Urus-Martan District Department of Internal Affairs, and after the start of the Russian "special operation" in Ukraine, he was awarded three Orders of Courage. The specific merits for which he was awarded were not specified.
The Saayev brothers—Mansur, Dalambek, Ibrahim, and Sulanbek—serve in the same unit, as do Alaudinov's distant relatives, Abkar and Zelimkhan Saayev. Five more relatives of the "Akhmat" commander, including his cousins Rustam, Sultan, and Alambek, his nephew Said-Rokhman, and his distant relative Usman Saayev, are listed in other units of the unit.
Vot Tak journalists also discovered that, alongside Alaudinov's relatives, their acquaintances and former colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs serve in the "Vakha" battalion. The soldiers are provided with comfortable living conditions: five people per room, electricity, and heaters. They also have access to local cafes, and the unit's vehicle fleet includes Chinese SUVs and a fully equipped Toyota Tundra II pickup truck, which sells for approximately 10 million rubles on the used market.
