Political prisoner Oleg Orlov, held in a pre-trial detention center, cannot call his wife

Political prisoner, co-chairman of the Memorial Human Rights Center Oleg Orlov cannot call his wife Tatyana Kasatkina from the Syzran pre-trial detention center. At the same time, he has official judicial permission, reports the Memorial Human Rights Protection Center.

Oleg Orlov handed over the application for calls along with permission to the pre-trial detention center staff. He fears that the documents have been lost.

On February 2, Oleg Orlov was recognized as a foreign agent. On February 27, the Golovinsky Court of Moscow sentenced him to 2.5 years in prison under the article on “repeated discrediting” of the army. The human rights activist was tried for an anti-war article in which he called the Putin regime fascist.

Later, the prisoner complained about the lack of medical care in the pre-trial detention center. From the moment of Orlov’s verdict, at the request of the judge, every day he was taken to the Golovinsky court to familiarize himself with the case materials and was brought back only at night. Most often, he spent the entire day in the convoy room, deprived of rest, hot food and full communication with his lawyer.
