The health of Zarema Musayeva, who is serving her sentence in a Chechen colony, has stabilized
The health of Zarema Musayeva, the mother of activists convicted in Chechnya, has stabilized. Previously, her blood sugar levels reached critical levels. This was reported by lawyer Alexander Savin, who visited the prisoner in the colony in the city of Argun.

“At the moment, thanks to doctors, Musayeva’s condition has stabilized, her blood sugar levels have been reduced to 11.5 units. Before this, according to Musayeva, they were critical and reached 30,” Savin shared.

The lawyer also said that Zarema received another penalty for not wearing a name badge. She did not put it on when she went to wash herself in the morning. This is already the second penalty due to the absence of a badge.

"On the one hand, the convict must indeed wear this badge of the established type all the time, but on the other hand, the bathroom, according to the set of rules for the design of correctional institutions, must be located inside the dormitory where the convict is located during the allotted time," noted Alexander Savin.

According to Savin, all these penalties can be taken into account by the court when deciding on parole. The court hearing is scheduled for October 21.

Earlier, the European Court awarded Zarema Musayeva and her family compensation for inhuman treatment and threats from the Chechen authorities. In early March, the Pyatigorsk Cassation Court reduced the woman's sentence from 5 years to 4 years and 9 months in prison. Last year, in Grozny, she was convicted on charges of using violence against a government official.

Recall that on January 20, 2022, police officers from Chechnya arrived in Nizhny Novgorod and took Musayeva away. After being taken to Grozny, the woman was accused of using force against a police officer. She allegedly scratched his face.

Zarema Musayeva is the mother of Chechen activists Abubakar, Ibragim and Baysangur Yangulbaev. Human rights activists claim that she was kidnapped as a hostage and convicted for her sons' opposition activities.
