Hundreds of Armenian citizens evacuated due to flooding

232 people were evacuated from the flood zone in northern Armenia. It is reported that 28 people were taken from the Tufenkian hotel complex in Lori. 110 people were evacuated from the area near the Sanahin railway station, 62 from the city of Tashir, 22 from Alaverdi, 7 from Ayrum, 2 from Dilijan, 1 from the village of Haghartsin. 

According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or injuries as a result of flooding in Yerevan. Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan arrived in the disaster zone.

Since the evening of May 25, half of the monthly rainfall has fallen in the Tavush and Lori regions. In the country as a whole, the level of precipitation exceeded the monthly norm by more than 2 times.

Due to flooding, the Armenia-Georgia interstate road is closed to traffic in both directions. In addition, train traffic on the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan route has been cancelled.
