Based on reports from local authorities, the death of 693 residents of Dagestan has been confirmed in the war with Ukraine. This is the highest figure among the republics of the North Caucasus Federal District.

According to official data, at least 1,488 people from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District were killed in the war with Ukraine. Thus, the deaths of 242 residents of North Ossetia, 227 of the Stavropol Territory, 142 of Chechnya, 114 of Kabardino-Balkaria, 44 of Ingushetia and 26 of Karachay-Cherkessia were confirmed.

In general, according to the BBC Russian Service and Mediazona, as of December 1, 2023, more than 38 thousand Russian military personnel are known to have died in Ukraine. Various sources, including the Ukrainian side, estimate the real losses of the Russian Federation at no less than 150 thousand people.
