Suleiman Kerimov Named Among World's Richest Businessmen

Russian billionaire and senator from Dagestan, Suleiman Kerimov, ranked fifth among Russians in the Forbes global rich list. His net worth is estimated at $25.7 billion.

Forbes' 2026 global ranking includes 155 Russians. It is noted that the Kerimov family's stake in the gold mining company Polyus was re-registered due to sanctions imposed on Suleiman's son, Said. After the sanctions against Said were imposed, his stake was transferred to other individuals and then purchased by Polyus itself.

Suleiman Kerimov began his political career as a State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and United Russia (1999-2007), and since 2008 has served as a member of the Federation Council, representing Dagestan. For his activities in the socio-political sphere, he was awarded the Order of Friendship.
