Georgia will not be represented at the Davos Economic Forum this year. Georgian media, citing the Government Administration, report that Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze did not receive an invitation.
The event will be held from January 19 to 23, 2026.
Forum participants include US President Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and other politicians from around the world. Representatives of business and civil society also received invitations.
It is worth noting that members of the ruling Georgian Dream party did not attend the Davos Economic Forum in 2025 either. Levan Davitashvili, then Deputy Prime Minister, stated that this was their personal decision and that they had "other priorities." However, even then, Georgian media wrote that official Tbilisi had not received an invitation to the event.
