Speaking in the European Parliament, Nikol Pashinyan identified the lack of active dialogue between the EU and Georgia as the main obstacle to Armenia's European integration. According to the Prime Minister, Georgia is a strategic 'bridge', and its candidate status has prompted Yerevan to begin the EU accession process.
A plaque mentioning neo-Nazis was torn down outside the home of murdered journalist Anna Politkovskaya in Moscow. The incident occurred on Lesnaya Street 8/12, the same street where the journalist lived and was murdered in 2006.
A few days ago, a plaque was installed on the building's facade with the text: "Here, in 2026, neo-Nazis destroyed a memorial plaque to Anna Politkovskaya." The plaque was torn down, as memorial plaques to Politkovskaya have been destroyed on numerous previous occasions. However, a stenciled inscription remained on the wall: "Anna Politkovskaya lived in this building and was vilely murdered on October 7, 2006."
The journalist is known for her criticism of the Russian government and her coverage of human rights violations in Chechnya. Despite the conviction of the perpetrators, those who ordered the crime have never been found.
