In Armenia, the Catholicos's brother was called an agent of Russian intelligence services
The National Security Service of Armenia reported that Yezras Nersisyan, the brother of Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, was recruited by the KGB during the Soviet period and given the codename "Karo."
According to the NSS, he currently maintains ties with foreign intelligence services. A clear hint was made at a potential relationship with the current Russian intelligence services, according to the Armenian publication Civic.am.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Catholicos Garegin II was planning a military coup in the country. The prime minister accused him and the Armenian clergy of working for Russia. The Armenian government recently launched a petition to force the resignation of Garegin II.
