The first shipment passed through Azerbaijan and Georgia, and an additional 132 railcars are planned for delivery by the end of 2026. The Russian government notes that this contributes to strengthening peace between Yerevan and Baku.
Armenia confirmed the delivery of grain from Russia via Azerbaijan.
"The lifting of restrictions on freight transport to Armenia is an important step for Azerbaijan toward restoring regional communications and developing economic cooperation," reads a statement on the Cabinet of Ministers website.
