During the operational and investigative activities of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, four citizens of the country were detained abroad. They are suspected of participating in a terrorist group.
The investigation showed that in 2024, they left Azerbaijan and hid in the mountainous area on the Afghan-Pakistani border. There, they participated in combat exercises and armed conflicts.
Two Azerbaijanis were also detained, who, as it turned out, financed the terrorist activities of some of the above-mentioned individuals. All detainees were brought to criminal responsibility under articles on the financing of terrorism, the dissemination of religious movements, participation in stable groups created outside of Azerbaijan, in exercises and armed conflicts under the pretext of performing religious rites, on the basis of religious hatred, etc.
