Four newborns died after a fire in a maternity hospital in Azerbaijan

At night, a fire broke out in the Republican Perinatal Center in Baku. The deaths of four newborns were reported. Three more people suffered smoke inhalation and were hospitalized.

The fire that broke out on the fourth floor of the building has been extinguished. More than 100 people were evacuated. The Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case.

According to a RIA Novosti study, Ingushetia ranked 85th, the last, in the list of Russian regions based on income levels for 2025. Other regions of the North Caucasus Federal District also ranked low: Karachay-Cherkessia ranked 83rd, Chechnya 77th, and North Ossetia 71st. The situation is better in Kabardino-Balkaria (66th) and Dagestan (57th).
