Construction of houses for people left homeless by the natural disaster that struck the republic in late March has already begun in Chechnya. Work is underway in the village of Novy Benoy in the Gudermes District, where individual houses are already being erected, while foundations are being poured in other areas, and necessary utilities are being installed.
"Work is proceeding at a rapid pace. Individual houses have already begun construction, while foundations are being poured in other areas. All necessary utilities are being installed alongside construction. The site is noticeably busy, and equipment is working without interruption. I have instructed that the current pace be maintained. It is now important to make the most of every opportunity to expedite the process without sacrificing quality," reported Chechen Republic Head Ramzan Kadyrov.
Following this, he conducted an inspection tour of the affected areas, including the Nozhai-Yurt District. He assessed the scale of the destruction, inspected damaged roads and residential buildings, and spoke with local residents.
"I inspected the affected areas, including damaged roads and residential buildings. There are areas where the disaster caused serious damage. I also spoke with local residents and listened to their concerns and requests. It is important for people to be heard, and all issues raised will be addressed," he noted.
According to the head of the republic, the necessary measures are already being taken, and restoration work will continue until the consequences are completely eliminated and all necessary assistance is provided to the victims.
"This is a shared grief that requires the direct participation of all of us. It is important not to stand by and do everything necessary to ensure that people return to normal life as quickly as possible. And we will do everything possible to achieve this goal," Kadyrov promised.
Earlier, the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that 2,500 residents of Chechnya had applied for compensation for damages from the disaster.
"The Chechen Republic is implementing a new, simplified approach to providing financial assistance to citizens affected by the emergency through government services. The digital format allows for streamlined operations, cutting payment processing times by a third," the department explained.
