Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." National Guard officers shot in Chechnya
In the village of Petropavlovskaya in the Grozny district of Chechnya, unknown individuals shot at a military truck of the National Guard "Ural". One serviceman was killed, another was wounded, Baza reports.
According to the Chechen opposition movement NIYSO, three National Guard officers were killed.
It is reported that law enforcement officers are working at the scene. The criminals managed to escape.
