In Chechnya, Russian Guards shot a high-ranking policeman

The day before, in the Akhmat Arena area in Grozny, employees of the Russian Guard tried to stop a car. The driver did not comply, and after two warning shots, they opened fire on the car. The head of the department for working with personnel of the operational group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs units, Lieutenant Colonel Albert Atmurzaev, who was driving, was mortally wounded.

Atmurzaev ignored repeated demands from the National Guard to stop, and then the law enforcement officers opened fire. They fired twice into the air and once into the car. The bullet hit the lieutenant colonel in the head. The victim was hospitalized, but doctors were unable to save him.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported a successful operation against personnel of the Russian "Akhmat" unit in the Sumy region from February to April 2026. As a result, according to the GUR website, the unit suffered its most significant losses since the beginning of the conflict: 41 people were killed and 87 were wounded. In addition, more than 100 members of the unit went missing.
