In Chechnya will again consider a complaint about the torture of the artist

The Supreme Court of Chechnya decided to refer the criminal case of torture of actor Timur Debishev for a new examination. Thus, the highest regional court did not support another refusal to investigate the crime.

Earlier, the investigation refused to involve the police on 13 occasions under the article on abuse of authority with violence against the former actor of the Grozny Russian Drama Theatre Timur Debishev. According to him, in 2018, the security forces found in his mobile phone the number of a suspect in drug trafficking. The actor was detained, beaten and tortured with electric shocks. Examination later confirmed the presence of electro-electrics.

The European Court of Human Rights recently accepted Debishev’s claim. ECHR notified the authorities of the Russian Federation of the consideration of the complaint.
