In Chechnya, the second high-ranking official resigned in a week

The Chairman of the Government of Chechnya, Muslim Khuchiev, resigned. The head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced this in his TG channel. He named the reason for Khuchiev’s transfer to another job.

Isa Tumkhadzhiev, who held the post of first deputy to Khuchiev, who headed the government since 2018, was appointed acting head of the Chechen government.

Earlier, Magomed Daudov, unexpectedly for many, resigned early from his post as head of the Chechen parliament. He stated this after a meeting with Kadyrov. Answering a question about the new position, Daudov noted: “For me, the most important thing is to be on the Path of Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov. This is my calling." Observers predicted a promotion for him, including an appointment to the post of prime minister of Chechnya, but there is still no clarity about his fate. At the same time, the ex-speaker, despite his resignation and official status as unemployed, continues to attend all meetings chaired by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
