Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." This was reported by the human rights project "Slovo Zashchite" (Word for the Defense).
A new group of refugees from Palestine arrived in Chechnya
Chechnya accepted another 18 refugees from Palestine, including 12 children. They will be placed in the Gorny Klyuch camp in the Shalinsky district.
In total, 206 people who came from the Gaza Strip have already found refuge in the republic.
Previously, humanitarian aid was repeatedly sent from Chechnya to the Gaza Strip - a total of over 92 tons of various cargo.
