Son of former district head arrested in Dagestan for attacking police officer
The Derbent City Court ruled to remand 37-year-old Sandro Shikhmagomedov in custody for two months. The son of the former head of the Tabasaran District of Dagestan is suspected of attacking and wounding a police officer. Two of his accomplices are also awaiting arrest.
 
On February 9, three men attacked a 28-year-old police officer outside a nightclub in Derbent. They beat him, took his gun, and shot him at least eight times. The attackers were detained in the Tabasaran District.
 
A criminal case has been opened under articles on attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and theft of weapons with the use of violence. The police officer is alive and in hospital.
