In Dagestan two days were declared non-working on the occasion of Uraza-Bayram

In connection with the celebration of Uraz-Bayram, the authorities of Dagestan declared April 20 and 21 as non-working days.

Muftiat of Dagestan asked for an additional weekend. The signing of the resolution was based on the provisions of the Federal Law «On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations». April 20 and 21 - Thursday and Friday. Thus, the residents of Dagestan will rest for four days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Southern District Military Court found Islam Batsiev, a native of Dagestan, guilty of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Russian Criminal Code) for participating in the attack on Pskov paratroopers as part of Basayev and Khattab's field detachment. Batsiev was sentenced to 21 years in a maximum-security penal colony.
