Dagestan Checks Radiation in Connection with Events in Iran

The Rospotrebnadzor Department for Dagestan is conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the radioactive situation in the southern part of the region. This is due to radioactive contamination in Iran after Israeli air strikes on nuclear and military facilities.

“Daily monitoring is conducted every 2 hours and is aimed at assessing the risks in connection with the accident at the uranium enrichment center in Natanz (Iran),” the department said in a statement.

At the moment, the situation in Dagestan “remains stable, no excess of the natural gamma background of the area, typical for the territory, has been recorded.”
