Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." In the German city of Reichenbach-Mi-Fogtland, a native of Chechnya named Ibrahim died from stab wounds. On suspicion of murder, his fellow countryman was detained. According to the police, the suspect got into the car to Ibrahim and stabbed him with a knife.
The tragedy occurred in the presence of a woman and young children - members of the family of the murdered, who were also in the car.
The investigation directed the body of the murdered for examination to establish a possible origin of wounds.
