A man died in the mountains of the KBR as a result of a rockfall

In the Cherek region of Kabardino-Balkaria, a group of nine tourists fell under a rockfall. This happened in the area of the alpine camp "Bezengi" at an altitude of 3500 meters.

A climber from St. Petersburg died, the rest were injured. Five tourists were evacuated from the scene by helicopter and taken to a hospital in Nalchik, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The Prosecutor's Office of the KBR organized a quality check of the provision of services related to the passage through the mountainous terrain.
