For seven days now, tens of thousands of volunteers from across the North Caucasus have been searching for little hero Khizir Derbichev, who was swept away by the powerful current of the Sunzha River near the village of Yandare in the Nazran District of Ingushetia. Despite fatigue, icy water, and challenging conditions, the men are carefully surveying the underwater area and the shoreline, searching under rocks, trees, and slabs.
Georgia plans to limit the use of pyrotechnics at rallies
Following the ban on wearing masks during rallies, the Georgian Dream party plans to regulate the import and sale of pyrotechnics in Georgia. This was announced by the speaker of the parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
He recalled that many citizens were worried about birds and animals due to the use of fireworks during the New Year holidays. Pyrotechnics have been frequently used by participants in protests against the Georgian authorities and the suspension of negotiations on the country's European integration. As for covering faces with masks and other things, the speaker of the parliament noted that it should be possible to identify people: "After all, when a person is masked and feels that his identification is difficult, he certainly becomes bolder in lawlessness and aggression."
Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze promised that the ruling party would pass a law prohibiting demonstrators from covering their faces in various ways. The statement was made in response to the increasing number of attacks on activists, opposition figures and representatives of the independent press, in particular on the TV Pirveli film crew.
