Georgia again protested against the arrival of a Russian cruise ship with propagandists

On the night of July 31, the Georgian opposition gathered for a protest in the port of Batumi, waiting for the Russian cruise ship Astoria Grande, which left Sochi. Among the passengers are the stars of the RU.TV channel, who support the war in Ukraine and President Vladimir Putin.

The protesters demanded that a ship bound for Turkey be banned from mooring in a Georgian port. Additional police forces arrived there and cordoned it off. Several people were detained.

Former Georgian Ombudsman Nino Lomjaria commented on this event: “This ship delivers military propagandists and violators of the law on occupation to Batumi. Who can, stand still, people, this is a very fair and legitimate protest.”
