In Karachay-Cherkessia, the search for a Muscovite missing after a river accident is in its fourth day

A detailed survey of the most dangerous sections of the Uchkulan and Kuban rivers is underway in the Karachayevsky District of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic. Emergency services are searching for a tourist from Moscow who was swept away by the mountain river several days ago.

The operation includes surveying the coastline, riverbeds, and adjacent areas. Horseback riding teams are involved in the search, drones are being used for aerial monitoring, and observation posts have been set up along the rivers. The team has been supplemented by specialists from the RusHydro emergency rescue service.

On June 19, a tragedy occurred on the Uchkulan River: a catamaran carrying two Muscovites capsized in the mountain river. One of them managed to escape the water on his own, while the other was swept away by the rapids.
