On June 23, South Ossetian head Alan Gagloev accepted Vladimir Putin's offer to serve as his advisor. According to the constitutional provisions, the interim leadership of South Ossetia will be transferred to Marat Kambolov, Chairman of the Republic's Government.
In Kabardino-Balkaria, two soldiers were sentenced to five years for evading military service
A military court in Nalchik found Rinat Kurmanaev and Zalim Bekov guilty of leaving their unit without leave during mobilization and sentenced each to five years in prison.
The investigation established that Kurmanaev, without valid excuse, failed to report for duty on September 2, 2024, and remained absent from his place of residence for more than seven months. Bekov left his unit on March 5, 2025, and spent more than four months away from its location before voluntarily returning.
Both soldiers fully admitted their guilt and received five years in prison.
