In the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, a company's management has been charged in the deaths of three passengers on a cable car

In Kabardino-Balkaria, the director and chief engineer of Elbrus MKD LLC have been charged in connection with the tragic accident on the chairlift on Mount Elbrus that occurred on September 12, 2025.

They are accused of providing services that did not meet safety requirements, which negligently resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to eleven others. Both defendants are charged under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code and are in custody.

Investigators believe that the tragedy was caused by the failure to properly maintain the equipment. Seven of the defendants' properties have been seized.
