The court sentenced Nogmov to 15 years in prison and ordered him to pay 3 million rubles in compensation for moral damages to the relatives of the deceased.
The victims' lawyer, Alexei Shak, called the verdict "lawful and fair." He also noted that the defense may appeal after reviewing the reasoning for the decision. The prosecutor had previously requested that mitigating circumstances be taken into account, such as the defendant's admission of guilt, participation in military operations, and possession of a state award.
The tragedy occurred on January 30, 2025, in a park area of Nalchik. While intoxicated by alcohol and drugs, Rustam Nogmov, for no apparent reason, inflicted multiple injuries on the pensioner, resulting in her death. The investigation also established that the deceased's body had been mutilated.
